Joining NASMM FAQs

I am just starting out and do not have a business name yet, can I still join?
Yes, your membership in NASMM will evolve as your business evolves. You can update your membership profile information at any time.

I am having trouble finding general business liability insurance, can I join NASMM without it?
Yes, you can join NASMM without general business liability insurance. NASMM offers two insurance programs that are available to you immediately upon joining. Once you join NASMM, you can contact these programs to determine the best coverage for your business.

Who needs to take the NASMM Cornerstone Courses in Ethics & Accountability and Safety?
Each owner listed on your application must take both courses.

Can I take the Cornerstone Courses prior to joining NASMM?
Yes, however, we do not encourage it. Upon joining, you will receive access to the Cornerstone courses and upon completion, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement for each course. We do not issue certificates unless you are a NASMM member.

How long do I have after joining to meet the requirements for NASMM General Membership?
We do not require a deadline for completion of membership requirements; however, it should not take you more than one year to obtain your membership requirements. Most NASMM Provisional Members convert to full General Members within a few months.

How much is NASMM membership?
NASMM membership dues are $325 annually. Dues must be included with your application. You can pay your dues by credit card or by check. NASMM accepts VISA, MasterCard, and Discover.

How long does it take to process my application?
Allow five (5) business days for NASMM to process your application and confirm your membership. NASMM confirms all membership via e-mail.

Can I use the NASMM logo as a provisional member?
Yes, you can use the NASMM logo once you provide proof of general business liability insurance.

Once I meet all of the NASMM membership requirements for General Membership, how long before I am listed on the NASMM website?
Upon meeting all of the requirements, your status is changed within three (3) business days and you are added to the website.

How can I submit my application?
You can join online or you can download the application, complete it and return it to NASMM via e-mail, fax or US Mail.
